Modular varieties are naturally equipped be a collection of subvarieties, which are modular varieties themselves, for instance, Hecke correpondance in the square of the modular curve are very close to the modular curves of high level. Intersections of this subvarieties are subvarieties of the same shape again, so we get flag structures of such objects. It seems reasonable to apply to them ideas and methods of Parshins higher adels.

We start from overview of known results for small dimensions and try to compare them with generic concept of so-called Heegner divisors in Moonshine. The technique of the Borcherds product get a big banch of functions with predicted divisors, and these functions can be studied in the spirit of the Parshins theory.
